And here it is....

The artwork post I promised! New bone knife, coyote ears, pouches, and more! )

As always, all of my artwork may be found on my website. Animal parts may only be shipped within the United States. Prices do not include shipping. Layaway is available if there's something you really want but can only put a down payment on right now. And yes, I do custom work.

Thank you :)

WOOHOO!!!!!

Just found out that Storm at Immanion is going to be uploading the files for Skin Spirits next week when the printers come back from holiday! So we're going ahead and taking preorders, for those who absolutely can't wait another minute to throw money at me for my writing ;)

Though in all seriousness, a HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported my creative endeavors over the years. Your support, not only financially but in so many other ways has been just phenomenal, and I'm not just blowing smoke when I say I couldn't have done it without the people who've believed in me.

Got home today and found a rejection letter waiting for me. :(

Ceece was outraged that anyone would send a letter timed so that it would arrive this close to Christmas, but I figure it was just some overworked and underpaid assistant to the agent who decided to clear eir desk before the vacation by tossing form rejections into whatever SASEs were hanging around. I can't say I blame em (much).

Wrote a post on my therioshamanism blog about some of my thoughts on death, dead critters, and working with the remains thereof. It's a bit of talk about my work with animal parts that you won't find in the upcoming book.

Immanion Press/Megalithica Books would like to announce its two newest nonfiction releases! We now have both of these books in stock here at the Green Wolf, so here's the official announcement.

Women's Voices in Magic edited by Brandy Williams is a phenomenal collection of essays from female occultists and magicians. People often think of female magical practitioners as mainly witches and neopagans, and the areas of ceremonial and chaos magic as more male-dominated. The essayists in this collection would like to disagree, some politely, some not! We discuss everything from our historical predecessors to the effects pregnancy has on magic, dealing with discrimination by other occultists for our sex, and how we work to change the assumptions that are made about us. Click here for more details, including a list of essays, and ordering info!

As for our other release--chaos magic has been around for a few decades now, and some would argue that it's long since gone stale, assimilated into a more mainstream, image-oriented form of occultism. Liber 767 vel Boeingus by Josef Karika takes chaos magic back to its exploratory, experimental, and lovingly irreverent roots. Based on the author's fifteen years of practical experience, and written with a good dose of humor, this text includes a wide variety of ideas for magical practice, from new takes on sigils and servitors and technological magic, to innovative ways to work with memories and dopplegangers. Here's where you can find more info, and place your order!

In other news, yes, the deadline for Digging up the Ostrich's Head, the animal sacrifice anthology, blew by a few days ago. I'm still way behind on, well, everything, with holidays in full swing, so if there are still outstanding essays, feel free to let me know--I'll still accept them. I don't have the time right this moment to do a full round of editing, but I am going to try to go through and cull anything that absolutely won't fit, and let folks know whether they have an initial yea or nay.

Bleah. Been feeling low-energy the past few days, going to take it easy now.

What is the most emotionally challenging aspect of the holidays for you? Do you enjoy this season more or less than you did as a child?

The most emotionally challenging part is dealing with the expectations. I work retail, I'm worn out all the time, and family drama is a long-standing family tradition. Whether it was Grandmommie feeling underappreciated or my cousin Susie getting plastered, there was always something.

I don't like Christmas much at all, now. I'm hoping that, once I've gotten some distance from retail, I'll be able to enjoy it again. (This is my tenth retail Christmas.) Though I doubt I'll ever be able to enjoy it uncritically, like I did as a child, again.
